My Dad insists that this happened. Of course years later,as the charts were not invented until about the 1950’s onwards

    Laurel and Hardy had a hit called “On the trail of the Lonesome Pine” with The Avalon Boys and featured Chill Wills. It was on the United Artists label but only reached No2 in the British charts on 22nd November 1975.
